“Through this publication, the reader can appreciate better the potential of bringing together professionals from different fora such as architects, engineers, designers, administrators, and legislators who are expected to ensure that the common good remains central to their daily practice, rather than any short-term gains that will only benefit personal or sectorial interests in the long term.” – H.E. Description

The Malta Architecture and Spatial Planning Awards (MASP), organized by the Planning Authority, is intended to highlight the best architectural designs and planning schemes undertaken during the past year. The awards provide recognition to Maltese architects, planners, designers, and their clients for their notable contribution to the enhancement of our environment. This publication showcases all those projects that received an overall award or a special commendation in various categories. These range from major urban projects to residential, commercial and tourist-related projects, restoration and rehabilitation, interior design, and environmentally sustainable projects.

This volume specifically addresses all those engaged in the disciplines of policy-making, spatial planning, architecture, restoration, and interior design. By disseminating these projects to a wider audience, one hopes that this publication will serve as a catalyst for better-quality developments that are not only sustainable but also respectful of our environment.
