Catch Kite at the Book Fair

Kite Stand at the National Book FestivalDebuting at this year’s National Book Fair, Kite Group’s publishing arm is starting with a bang.

Although set-up in mid-2013, Kite Group has already published two fully illustrated books for children.  The first book featured short stories woven around Bird Park Malta with the animals over there taking centre stage.  Written in Maltese, the stories have been given life thanks to the colourful cartoon-like illustrations.

Ħbieb tal-Qalb is another children’s book, but with a difference.  Although another collection of short stories for children, this book transmits the message of inclusion and multi-culturalism to its readers.  The stories are bilingual and presented in both Maltese and Arabic.  The book was part of a campaign on inclusion Kite Group was entrusted with by the European Parliament Office in Malta.

Launched just before the book fair, Kite Group has just published the biography of Dr Alexander Cachia Zammit.  A long-standing politician and last surviving cabinet minister during Malta’s quest for Independence; Dr Sandy, as he is affectionately known, recounts Malta’s contemporary history through his direct experience and involvement.

The book fair will also see the launch of Kite Group’s new and much anticipated book.  Gonzi and Malta’s break with Gaddafi.  Recollections of a Premier is the first hand account of Malta’s former Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi of the Libyan crisis.  The book offers a unique journey through the hard and defining decisions taken during the crisis.  A pre-publication offer will be on during the book fair.
