Description
The care of the elderly has never been so important than now and future generations will face an even bigger problem if we do not act now. This book is a collage of papers and articles published which describe, the care of the growing adult and more importantly the older elderly, with their significance, their vulnerability and the contribution they have on society. Health care is just one aspect of this. The salient features are how we look upon the elderly and their plight and how we often internally say that we do not what to be in their state when we see frailty, illness, hospitalisation, and living at home or in residences. The solution is not about money; it is about equity and non-marginalisation. We all want a fulfilled life no matter how long we live. The question would not be whether we can still fill a fulfilled life at ninety. We do our best to prolong life but we should be investing more and more thought in being-in society. If thrown-into-the-world at ninety, how can I be helped to continue to function as a human being. Advanced technologies will surely play a role if we are willing to provide it to those who seem or are non-productive.
